Education
Mr. Rogers graduated magna cum laude from John Carroll University (Cleveland, Ohio) with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Art History. His Honors Program thesis was an analysis of the work of Harriet Hosmer, American neo-classical sculptor. While at John Carroll University, he was awarded the Roderick Boyd Porter Scholarship for outstanding work in humanities.
In Cleveland, Mr. Rogers was mentored by the late Dr. Robert Getscher, noted art historian, and by Mr. James Corcoran, pre-eminent personal property and fine arts appraiser. Through his association with these gentlemen and with the Sculpture Center (Cleveland, Ohio), Mr. Rogers has learned to inspect, catalog, and value various works of fine and decorative art. He regularly attends lectures and symposia on issues relevant to the assessment and valuation of personal property, in general, and fine art and collectibles, in particular.
Mr. Rogers has taken a course and passed an exam on the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP); his USPAP educational and testing requirements are met through April 2016.
Mr. Rogers is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA).
Experience
From 1998-2001, Mr. Rogers worked for Corcoran Fine Arts, Ltd. in Cleveland, Ohio. He has since served as a consultant to that company and to Corcoran Appraisal Group International. Through his connection with these companies and with Mr. Corcoran, Mr. Rogers has cataloged, researched, and valued the property of museums, religious and cultural organizations, noteworthy private collections, and large and important estates.
Mr. Rogers established Rogers Fine Art in January 2007. Rogers Fine Art provides many arts related services including research, appraisal, acquisition, deaccession, and consultation. He is Past President of The Print Society of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Mr. Rogers regularly travels to destinations throughout the country to assess art market levels and trends.

In addition to the resources contained in local libraries and museums, Mr. Rogers maintains an extensive collection of books on fine arts, decorative arts, and collectibles. He also has access to premier personal property auction market databases such as Art Auction Results, Ask Art, Art Price Index, Gordon’s Print Price Index, and Art Fact. Mr. Rogers also subscribes to various arts and antiques periodicals to keep current with news and market trends. Mr. Rogers maintains relationships with a number of art historians, art galleries, auction houses, and appraisal experts in various fields with whom he can consult as necessary and appropriate.
